Detz, Pirtle ready for year two on the Mississippi State infield

It didn't take long for Alex Detz and Brett Pirtle to contribute for the Mississippi State baseball program after transferring in from junior college.
The two infielders were two important pieces for the Bulldogs on their run to the College World Series last season.
As they enter their senior season, Detz and Pirtle anchor an infield that should make MSU a very solid squad once again.
Despite the loss of shortstop Adam Frazier to the Pittsburgh Pirates organization, Detz likes how the infield is shaping up for the Bulldogs.
"Our infield is going to be pretty good just like the years past," Detz said. "Coach (John) Cohen puts a big emphasis on infield so that's always one of the most important things. Whoever is replacing Adam, it shouldn't be too much of a step down. It's going to be good."
