SA edged at home by Jackson Academy

February 13, 2014

The Starkville Academy Volunteers had to win two of three games this week in order to advance to the playoffs.
On Monday, the Vols got one of those wins, then Thursday they played Jackson Academy in hopes of getting the second.
The odds were not in Starkville Academy’s favor as they saw a 1-0 defeat at the hands of the Raiders.
“They fought hard,” Cole Andrews, the coach of the Vols said. “We conceded that goal due to 15 seconds where we got lazy. You can’t give teams like that opportunities. You have to respect their ability to score quickly and that is what they did. We did pretty well of containing it, but in the end, we were just a little sloppy at times.”
