Cold Crustaceans - Cold weather slows local crawfish season

Residents have certainly taken notice of the winter weather, but its impact extends beyond brisk days, ice on cars and school closures.

Crawfish farmers have struggled with the extended cold temperatures, and the impact is trickling down the chain to suppliers and, ultimately, customers.

LittleDooey General Manager Bart Wood said constricted crawfish supply has delayed the restaurant’s ability to serve them.
