Hanalena to play at Folk Alliance event

February 12, 2014

Two years ago, sisters Hannah and Caroline Melby attended the International Folk Alliance Conference (IFAC).

Raised in Starkville, Hannah and Caroline perform together as Hanalena, a band that combines bluegrass, blues and country music. Each year, IFAC brings together musicians, songwriters, storytellers, and other music industry professionals from around the world to share their passion for folk subgenres including bluegrass, blues, soul, world music, spoken word, zydeco and more. It’s also a place where top professionals perform, and Caroline said attending IFAC gave the sisters a new goal: return to IFAC, this time on its showcase roster.
