It didn't take long for the senior Starkville Lady Yellowjackets to make an impact on Saturday night's game against the Louisville Lady Wildcats.
Imane Montgomery hit the first two baskets for SHS and Blair Schaefer followed it with a 3-point field goal for an opening game 7-0 run.
That wasn't the only scoring that Schaefer and Montgomery were able to do as the Lady Jackets defeated Louisville 66-47 at the Beehive.
Schaefer finished with 22 points to lead Starkville, while Montgomery added 16 points. Even Vonna Macon, the other senior, got in on the scoring for the Lady Jackets with four points.
"I had a great experience playing with my classmates," Macon said. "They are two of the best players I've ever played with. (Saturday night) was very special. We've come a long way and we're going to push forward from here."
