Senior night at the Beehive was buzzing as Starkville sent out 11 of its athletes with an 83-39 victory.
“I thought we set the tone early in the game,” Yellowjackets coach Greg Carter said. “We really just got into them and dictated what the game was going to be like.
“It was a good win. (It was) good to see the seniors go out with a win at home. These seniors have been through a lot. As freshmen, they didn’t get to play at all on a team that went to the state tournament then as juniors they won nine games. They are sitting here as seniors at 22-3. That is a pretty big turnaround for a group of guys who just kept working and working and working.”
