MSU fights, falls short in upset bid

Coach Vic Schaefer has been making strides with the Mississippi State women's basketball program.
On Thursday night, the Bulldogs gave the No. 6 South Carolina Gamecocks all they could handle, but in the end, it wasn't good enough.
The Bulldogs left everything out of the court, but lost a 71-64 decision to Southeastern Conference-leading South Carolina inside Humphrey Coliseum.
