Local high school athletes set to move on

February 5, 2014

Many athletes grow up with the goal of one day playing on the college level.
There are some area football players making that goal a reality today.
Two of those players are expected to sign with four-year schools as Starkville Academy defensive and offensive lineman Tripp Janssen committed to Delta State, while Choctaw County defensive lineman Taboris Lee has announced his intentions to attend Louisiana-Lafayette.
Starkville Academy coach Jeff Terrill is excited about the opportunity Janssen has with the Statesmen in Cleveland.
"He's been a young man that's had the desire to go and do so," Terrill said. "He's worked hard to have an opportunity. It's gratifying for everybody in the program to see him get the opportunity. It's well-deserved."
