When it comes to the Super Bowl, Mississippi State has its finger print on it.
This season it will be no different.
A trio of Seattle Seahawks played their college football at MSU. Linebacker K.J. Wright, wide receiver Arceto Clark and defensive lineman Dewayne Cherrington are a part of the Seahawks.
Wright has been a regular starter for Seattle, while Clark and Cherrington are on the practice squad.
The trio make it 42 all-time Super Bowl appearances by 30 different players in MSU football history.
The Seahawks square off against the Denver Broncos today in Super Bowl XLVIII. Kickoff is set for 5:30 p.m. at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. The game can be seen on Fox.
The Seahawks defeated the San Francisco 49ers and former Bulldog Anthony Dixon in the NFC Championship game two weeks ago.
Wright was sidelined for the first playoff game against the New Orleans Saints due to a broken bone in his foot.
He needed the Seahawks to beat the Saints so he could get back on the field.
“I was telling the guys the whole time, ‘Let’s make this happen. I’ve got to come back. I’ve got to get back on that field,’ ” Wright said in the locker room at Virginia Mason Athletic Center before the first Super Bowl practice last Wednesday.
