Too much Self as SHS beats Southaven

February 2, 2014

It turned out to be too much Self for the Southaven Chargers to deal with on Saturday afternoon.
Dontavious Self scored 19 points and led the Starkville Yellowjackets to a 61-51 victory over Southaven at the Beehive.
"I thought Self really played well in the paint," SHS boys coach Greg Carter said. "I don't think they had an answer for him. Not only could they not block him out, they couldn't keep him from scoring on the block. They didn't double him for a while and when they didn't double him, he lit them up."
