Lady Jackets survive test in victory

February 2, 2014

The Lady Yellowjackets rose to the challenge Saturday afternoon with a 61-58 victory over Southaven.
“Southaven is a great 6A school,” Starkville coach Kristie Williams said. “We know as we close out the stretch of the regular season playing teams like Southaven is going to help on our journey to Jackson. We needed a game like this. When your energy is up coming off two big wins, you can kind of get relaxed in what you do, but we came out with a lot of fire in us. Southaven put us to the test and the girls responded like they should.”
