Robert Madison Farrar, Jr., 79, passed away on January 28, 2014 at his residence inÂ Starkville,MS.Â He was a Research Forester with the U.S. Forest Service. He received his B.S. Degree with honors fromÂ AuburnÂ University, his Masters fromÂ YaleÂ University, and his Doctorate from theÂ UniversityÂ ofÂ Georgia.Â Â He was an avid outdoorsman.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Madison Farrar, Sr. and Juanita VonKohn GrayÂ Â and also Mr. and Mrs. Russell T. Harper; wife, Mary Eugenia Sizemore Farrar; and one brother, Herbert Russell Farrar.
He is survived by his daughters, Susanne Wilkinson Farrar ofÂ Hot Springs Village,Â ARÂ and Mealanie Farrar Wells (Robert G.) ofÂ Monticello, AR; son, Robert M. Farrar, III of Nacogdoches, TX; sister, Roberta Hamilton (Walter) of Holiday, FL.
Graveside services are scheduled for Saturday, February 1, 2014 at 3:00 P.M. atÂ SalemÂ MethodistÂ ChurchÂ CemeteryÂ inÂ Macon,Â MS.Â Â Rev. Bob Whiteside will conduct the service.
