There's no doubting which two players are the heart and soul of the Starkville Academy girls basketball team this season.
Behind seniors Sallie Kate Richardson and Nora Kathryn Carroll, the Lady Volunteers have found much success.
Friday night was no different as the pair combined for 27 of Starkville Academy's point-production in a 52-32 victory over Washington School.
It's easy to see the scoring that Richardson and Carroll put up on a regular basis for the Lady Vols, but coach Glenn Schmidt was happy about the ball-handling duties from them.
"I thought our two seniors came out ready to play and leading us on our home court," Schmidt said. "Both of them are having to do a lot more ball handling in the open floor. As you can see, Nora hasn't played point guard since the 8th grade and she has about taken over that role in the full-court press. Sallie Kate has been helping handle the ball too. She handles the ball well."
