Legislators weigh future of state tuition program

It’s been more than one year since the Mississippi Prepaid Affordable College Tuition (MPACT) program froze enrollment, and the College Savings Plan of Mississippi Board of Directors has placed the decision to reopen enrollment or close MPACT permanently in state legislators’ hands.

Local legislative and university officials say they would like to see MPACT kept intact, but how that could happen remains up in the air.
