The Mississippi State Bulldogs threw everything they had at No. 3 Florida.
In the end, it wasn't good enough.
The Bulldogs played inspired basketball, but dropped a 62-51 decision to the Gators Thursday night inside Humphrey Coliseum.
"Offensively, we had our problems," MSU head coach Rick Ray said. "I thought we had a plethora of opportunities in the first half to finish at the rim that we just didn't get done."
The Bulldogs have now lost two-straight Southeastern Conference games for the first time this season. MSU (13-7, 3-4) lost to in-state rival Ole Miss on the road last Saturday.
"Our team is growing, but we still have a ways to go," Ray said.Â
