Mississippi State has had to mix and match at the point guard position the last two games.
True freshman point guard I.J. Ready has been sidelined the last two games with a concussion he suffered last Wednesday night against Alabama.
He missed Saturday’s win against Texas A&M and an 82-74 victory over Auburn on Wednesday night.
“First and foremost you’re playing with seven scholarship guys,” MSU head coach Rick Ray said. “Arguably your best passer, best decision-maker and best shooter are not playing in these past two games and win two quality games.
Junior Trivante Bloodman started in his spot. He finished the night with 13 points and five assists. Redshirt freshman Jacoby Davis has also seen some playing time. He saw 19 minutes of action and scored a Southeastern Conference-high five points on 2-of-5 shooting from the field.
Ray said Ready’s status moving forward is still up in the air.
The Bulldogs travel to Oxford to play Ole Miss on Saturday.
