The Mississippi State Bulldogs had the 12th-ranked team in the country on the ropes several times during the course of Thursday night's Southeastern Conference matchup.
Each time Mississippi State made a charge and cut the lead to three points, the Tennessee Lady Volunteers had an answer.
The Bulldogs had gotten to within 64-61 in the final 30 seconds of the game, but could get no closer down the stretch.
Despite the effort by MSU, Tennessee won a 67-63 decision at Humphrey Coliseum.
