The Mississippi State women's basketball team has gotten off to an 0-2 start once again in the Southeastern Conference just like last season, but there's a different feeling about what's taking place right now.
During the 2012-13 season, the Bulldogs lost their first two conference games at Vanderbilt 92-41 and to South Carolina at home 60-46.
The point spreads in the league have not been as bad for MSU lately. Florida won an 82-72 decision in Gainesville, while Auburn defeated the Bulldogs 82-74 in Starkville last Sunday.
"We've grown a whole lot since last year," MSU senior point guard Katia May said. "We are totally two different teams. We came out at Florida, didn't play well and went out and lost by 10. If it was last year's team, I don't know how it would've went.
"If we continue to play, put two halves together and play as a team from start to finish, I don't know where it can lead us."
The Bulldogs have traveled to Fayetteville, Ark., for the next SEC test when they take on the Razorbacks. The tip is scheduled for 2 p.m.
