COLUMBUS – It's important to begin the second half of a basketball season strong.
Starkville Academy coach Glenn Schmidt liked what she saw as her Lady Volunteers entered that portion  of the schedule with a 52-42 overtime victory over Golden Triangle rival Heritage Academy.
“I am real pleased,” Schmidt said. “They were alert. They were sharp. They knew what was happening. They listened and they stayed with the game plan.”
