A few years ago Starkville High had the idea to host a holiday tournament.
From that idea was born the Travis Outlaw Slam Dunk at the Hump.
It has been three years since the first tournament was held and in that time, the event has been nothing but success.
“It has been a tremendous success and it has grown each year,” SHS athletic director Dr. Stan Miller said. “Here is what we got. Teams that won state championships a year or two ago coming to our tournament and all I am getting from the teams (as far as comments are) very organized, people are great, hospitality has been great and so on.”
