When the Mississippi State men's basketball team leaves the state of Nevada, it could have enough wins to match last year's total.
The Bulldogs enter the Continental Tire Las Vegas Classic with a record of 8-2. They had just 10 wins all of last season and were just 5-7 in non-conference action last season.
"We know we had a rough go at it last year, but last year was last year," MSU senior Tyson Cunningham said. "This is a new year and we are looking to do some big things."
The Bulldogs will play South Florida today in the opening game of the Classic. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. at the Orleans Arena.
