SMITH COLUMN: Outlaw gives away turkeys in hometown

December 20, 2013

Travis Outlaw may be busy playing basketball on the West Coast right now, but it didn't stop him from continuing the theme of giving back to his community.
The Starkville native, who is an 10-year veteran of the National Basketball Association with the Sacramento Kings, got into the holiday spirit on Wednesday when he and his family gave out turkeys at the Travis Outlaw Center at the Starkville Sportsplex.
After noticing what the Kings do for the people of Sacramento, Outlaw thought it would be nice to do something similar in his hometown.
