State agency warns of holiday scams

Officials are warning Mississippians to beware of scams during the holiday season.

The Secretary of State’s office released a reminder to residents to be sure to check that any charity they donate to during the holiday season is legitimate. According to the Secretary of State’s report, charities in Mississippi must be registered with the Secretary of State’s office to solicit funds.
