SMITH COLUMN: Egg Bowl started quite a chain of unbelievable events

December 1, 2013

The Battle for The Golden Egg really started something this weekend.
Never in my many years of watching college football do I remember so many rivalry games end with so much intrigue and drama in a three-day span.
When Mississippi State's Nickoe Whitley knocked the football loose from Ole Miss quarterback Bo Wallace and was recovered by Jamerson Love to secure a 17-10 overtime victory by the Bulldogs in the Egg Bowl, it was certainly a wild and crazy finish.
It got wilder and crazier on Saturday.
