Jackets show a good effort in tough loss

November 24, 2013

The Starkville Yellowjackets knew that it was going to take a near perfect effort to take down the tough South Panola Tigers.
South Panola was the defending Class 6A State champion and had not lost this season against Mississippi competition.
Due to finishing second in Class 6A, Region 2, Starkville knew it would probably be matched up with the Tigers in a second-round game on the road. That's exactly what happened.
The Jackets took a good plan to Batesville on Friday night, but just could not withstand the firepower of South Panola and lost a 20-6 decision.
