McKee Park needs leaves for mulching

The Starkville Parks Department has begun an initiative asking citizens to donate their fallen leaves and pine straw to be used as mulch to help beautify and preserve McKee Park.

Pete Melby, a local landscape architect and retired Mississippi State University professor is helping with the project. He said the department began the initiative three years ago when it was realized there were some serious issues in the oak grove near the children’s playground.
