Benardrick McKinney is the ultimate team player.
The Mississippi State sophomore linebacker might have only picked up three tackles against the Alabama Crimson Tide last Saturday night, but one of those tackles was for a loss and he also recovered his second fumble of the season.
It was one of four turnovers for No. 1 Alabama and even though the Bulldogs lost a 20-7 decision to the Crimson Tide, McKinney liked the aggressiveness of the defense.
McKinney and the rest of the team believed MSU was at a point defensively where it could beat Alabama.
"I told the team we are going to win this game and play our heart out," McKinney said. "We're getting better. We're a young team. We're trying to stay together and make a lot of plays. The plays we weren't making early in the season, we're trying to make them.
"Coach (Geoff Collins) enforced that during the spring that we are going to create a lot of mayhem. We're trying to go out there and make big plays."
