The Class 6A postseason begins tonight around the state of Mississippi and the Starkville Yellowjackets expected to be one of the teams still standing.
Since Jamie Mitchell became the head coach prior to the 2010 season, the Jackets have made the playoffs three out of the four seasons.
"Around Starkville, it's what you play for," Mitchell said. "The regular season is great, but it's all about the playoffs. That's why we do everything for it. It boils down to four weeks of the absolutely best of the best. This is kind of what we live for."
Starkville, which finished the regular season with an 8-3 overall record, hosts the Grenada Chargers at Yellowjacket Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
