Volunteers sign cards for heroes

November 14, 2013

It began when Amy Davis saw a commercial for the American Red Cross’ Holiday Mail for Heroes program.

Volunteers with this program lend their signatures to Christmas cards which are then mailed to military service members on duty around the world. The Northeast Mississippi Red Cross chapter has been conducting the program for several years, but Davis said she wanted to help extend its reach to churches, police and fire departments, Girl Scouts and more in the Starkville area.
