Thanksgiving dinner ... well, everyone lived

It occurred to me the other day that this will be my first holiday season away from home when I likely won’t get to make the trip back for Thanksgiving.

This is, of course, not going well with my mother, but all in all they understand I do what I can, and we’ll celebrate as soon as we can get together. It’s not really about the day, anyway, so much as reflecting on the blessings we have as a family. If it happens to be in December, it just does.
