Backstage Music will call on its patrons and others in Starkville for help on Nov. 16 in an effort to gather food for local food pantries.

Allen McBroom, a partner at Backstage Music, said the store would participate in Strings for Food, a nationwide effort on the part of independent music store owners to raise food for local pantries that are hit hard during the holiday season.
