Mississippi State head coach Dan Mullen stepped to the podium Monday afternoon with a heavy heart and a good bit on his mind.
It was learned late Sunday night that quarterback Dak Prescott's mother, Peggy, lost her battle with cancer.
Mullen opened his press conference by talking about the tragic and untimely loss of Dak's mother.
"(It's) obviously a tough week for us outside of football," Mullen said. "I know within the program, we're a very tight knit family program. When someone in our family has to go through something like that, it's always a very, very difficult situation.
"Our prayers are always with him, (and) our prayers are with the whole family. I thank everyone out there that have been sharing their prayers with Dak and his family. I know that's much appreciated."
