I had prepared myself for the moment â€” that horrible moment of horrible truth â€” for an entire year. Then the moment came, on an October Sunday, right on schedule.
I expected horrible pain, emotional trauma â€¦ just some justification for the mass preparation Iâ€™d made for the day life as Iâ€™d always known it would be no more. In the end, all the dread of imminent doom manifested itself in a way that only a famous line from Macbeth can best describe: â€śsound and fury signifying nothing.â€ť
