After winning four straight state championships from 2006 to 2009 and again last year in fast-pitch softball, East Webster is taking a turn at playing for a slow-pitch title.
âIt is just a testament to our players,â Lady Wolverines coach Lee Berryhill said. âThey made the commitment. They work and they want to get better that is the key. You have players that will work it gives you an opportunity.â
Playing for a state championship has been a âcommon goalâ of the East Webster team from day one. Each and every day at practice they work hard and every game they come out improved and striving to âextend the seasonâ by one more game.
âThe girls bought in last year,â Berryhill said. âThey work and compete like I ask them to do. If you do that and get better and better, it gives you an opportunity. That is where we are now and I am just proud of them.â
