East Webster sees another challenge in region

October 17, 2013

The battles keep coming for the East Webster Wolverines.
The Wolverines play in an extremely tough region of Class 2A and tonight they will face another of district opponent in Bruce.
As his team prepares, East Webster coach Doug Wilson is just looking for the trend of playing to the end to continue.
“They don’t quit,” Wilson said. “That is a good tribute to the community and the parents that they don’t quit. They just keep playing hard and take it one play at a time.”
The Trojans (5-2, 0-1) bring a great deal of speed, size and experience to the table and Wilson knows in order to be competitive, his boys are going to have to minimize mistakes and focus on playing East Webster football.
“Our kids are playing hard,” Wilson said. “We are competing that is all that matters. We just have to work on keeping the mistakes down because when you have a good team like Bruce you can’t have them.”
The Wolverines have records of 6-2 and 0-2.
Kickoff tonight in Cumberland is set for 7 p.m.
