Tagert updates Rotarians on three MDOT projects

October 15, 2013

North Mississippi Transportation Commissioner Mike Tagert updated the Starkville Rotary Club on three significant transportation projects in Oktibbeha County at the club’s Monday meeting at the Starkville Country Club.

The three projects were the repaving of Highway 182, the new Starkville-MSU Area Rapid Transit (SMART) shuttle system, and a new entrance road to MSU from the south. This south entrance, he said, was reaching the final stages of design, and it would allow traffic to flow from the Mississippi Horse Park to Blackjack Road, relieving some traffic from Montgomery Street to MSU.
