Eupora falters in second half to get first loss

October 13, 2013

Entering last Friday night's game, I thought Eupora was going to come out and have no problem with Bruce.
When the dust finally settled around 9:30 p.m., it was Bruce who walked away with a 25-20 victory.
The Eagles played well in the first half, but struggled offensively in the second half and it cost them.
They scored with 12 seconds remaining, but failed to recover the onside kick and that's all she wrote.
The Eagles are now 5-1 and 0-1 in Class 2A, Region 4. They still have three more division games, but starting 0-1 really puts them behind the eight ball.
The district is one of the best the state Mississippi.
After two weeks of division play, Calhoun City is at the top with a 2-0 record. Okolona is second with a  1-0 record, Bruce is third at 1-1, Eupora is next at 0-1 and East Webster is in last place after an 0-2 start.
