The video board at Davis Wade Stadium introduced both Tyler Russell and Dak Prescott as the starting quarterbacks.
The senior Russell got the start as the took snaps on the Bulldogs' first offensive possession of the game, but Prescott got his fair share of playing time.Â
"Like I said earlier in the week, it really doesn't matter who's at quarterback," Russell said. "Coach (Dan) Mullen calls in a play and we execute, then everything's fine. I thought we did a good job of that."
The two-quarterback system helped Mississippi State escape with a 21-20 win over Bowling Green on Saturday night.Â
Russell started three drives and sophomore Prescott saw action on seven drives, starting six of them.Â
Russell finished the game completing 12-of-14 passes for 102 yards and no scores.Â
He completed a 17-yard pass to Joe Morrow with 12:51 left in the first half to give him 363 career completions, moved into third all-time at MSU and moved ahead of Derrick Taite. He now has 368-career completions.Â
Prescott finished with 139 rushing yards on 15 attempts and two scores. He completed 7-of-11 passes for 75 yards and an interception. Â
