Second Chilifest event promises food, family fun

October 11, 2013

Patrons taste chilis from last year’s Junior Auxiliary Chilifest. Junior Auxiliary is hosting its second Chilifest from 5-7 p.m today at the MSU Ampitheater. (Submitted photo)

The aroma of charcoal and the grill being fired up is typical on Saturdays in The Junction at Mississippi State University, but the cooking will begin early this week. Pots will be stirred and the smell of chili will begin wafting through the air at MSU’s Ampitheater for today’s Junior Auxiliary’s fundraiser Chilifest.

This is the second consecutive year Junior Auxiliary has hosted Chilifest. The fundraiser will run from 5-7 p.m. and will feature a variety of activities for families. The event will be in the middle of a plethora of homecoming events Mississippi State has planned for the day.
