Yokohama breaks ground - State, company dignitaries attend Monday ceremony

Executives from Yokohama Tire Corporation, along with Gov. Phil Bryant, state legislators and broke ground on a multi-million dollar tire manufacturing plant Monday outside of West Point. The project is estimated to bring about 500 jobs in the first phase and 2,000 upon future expansion. See more photos from the event starting on Page 5. (Photo by Mary Garrison, DTL)

It was a monumental day in West Point, as five months after the official announcement that Yokohama Tire Company would build a new facility in Clay County, officials broke ground on the project.
