One of Dan Mullen's biggest wins as the Mississippi State head coach came last year against Auburn.
Today, Mullen's Bulldogs (1-1) face off against the Tigers in Auburn (2-0) at Jordan-Hare Stadium in the first Southeastern Conference game for both teams. Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m. and can be seen on ESPN2.
The Bulldogs beat the Tigers 28-10 in Starkville last season. Going into that game last season, there was much importance placed on it for the Bulldogs. This year's game is no different.
"We're excited to get into SEC play," Mullen said. "These are the, not that the non-conference games aren't huge, these are the big games though. You get eight conference games a year and to me, that's what you're judged on at the end of the year. (You are judged on) how you finish within you conference. This is going to be a big deal for us."
