Coach Jeff Terrill said Friday’s game against Hillcrest Christian was probably the most important contest thus far in the season.
The Starkville Academy Volunteers took that to heart as they defeated the Cougars 49-8.
“Our kids did it (Friday),” Terrill said. “It was the first game we have come in favored. Hillcrest is doing a great job of building their program, but we were able to score first and get the early turnover and just continued to make big plays.”
