MATHISTON – The East Webster football roster has Deangelo Liggins listed as quarterback, running back and defensive back.
Liggins can do a little bit of everything and his talents were on display last Friday night.
He was a workhorse in the backfield with 21 carries for 174 yards and a touchdown as the Wolverines defeated Nettleton 35-27, but Liggins also had a pass completion for 39 yards and returned a punt 72 yards for another score.
East Webster coach Doug Wilson said those kind of performances are something he has come to expect from Liggins.
"He's a big player and a big-play player," Wilson said. "When the lights come on, he likes to show out. The touchdown on a punt return (against Nettleton) was an incredible run. He's a good athlete.
"He can play anywhere. He threw a long pass Friday night off a little reverse. He threw a nice pass and like he had been throwing all night."
