Fair doesn’t always feel good

Labels these days seem more important than ever, and single labels are taking on increasingly diverse definitions.

Take the word Christian, for example, which has almost reached the level of meaning all things to all people. Yet, lost somewhere in the depths of how society interprets it is the actual definition of the word.

“Christian” has become synonymous with conservative politics, for instance, and conservative politicians have welcomed the idea so abundantly that they throw the name of God in front of everything on their agenda, no matter how horrid some of those agenda items may be or how dissonant they are from the actual tenets of Christianity.
