The Golden Egg Trophy currently held by the Ole Miss Rebels, now have the miniature version also headed to Oxford.
Starkville and Oxford met in the inaugural “Little Egg Bowl” in Starkville on Friday night, and it was the visiting Chargers who picked up the 35-24 win, in a second half full of struggles for the Yellowjackets.
“We made enough mistakes (Friday night) to last us a whole season,” said Starkville head coach Jamie Mitchell. “That’s not to take away anything from Oxford. They played a tremendous game, but we were plagued by mistakes.”
