East Webster scores late to win

August 22, 2013

MABEN – It has always been said it is not over until the lady sings.
On Thursday, East Webster and Nanih Waiya put that statement to the test as they battled until the very end with the Lady Wolverines scoring one in the bottom of the seventh inning to claim a 7-6 slow-pitch softball victory.
"We came out hitting the ball pretty well, playing defense and playing the game like you are supposed to play the game," East Webster coach Lee Berryhill said. "Of course, Nanih Waiya is a good ball team. They are not going to quit. They are going to bounce back and keep coming at you which they did."
