Hebron Christian seemed to have runners on base in every inning.
The Lady Eagles never had a big inning, but they did score in five of the seven innings as they went on to beat the Lady Volunteers of Starkville Academy 9-2 Thursday afternoon on the SA's home field.
"They did OK," Hebron coach Cass Tapley said. "They're getting better."
The Lady Eagles (3-5) took an early 2-0 advantage in the top of the first. Alaina Hill had a RBI double and Brooke Griffin had a RBI single.
Hebron was shut out in the second inning, but added two more runs in the third.
Rebekah Faulkner, Holly Hudson, Hill, Griffin and Victoria Ferguson had five consecutive hits with Griffin and Ferguson having RBI singles.
"Our first six can really put the ball in play," Tapley said.Â
