Over the course of 48 hours on Aug. 17-18, Micah Knox and members of Boy Scouts of America and Modern Woodmen of America joined forces to build benches for two Odd Fellows cemeteries, near Highway 82 and University Drive, and Brush Harbor Cemetery.

Knox developed and executed the service project in an effort to become an Eagle Scout. Jamey Bachman, director of Volunteer Starkville, helped Knox choose the bench project. She said it was something she had wanted to complete for months, but was unable to due to funding.
