SPIRIT OF OKTIBBEHA: Read energizes volunteering

August 12, 2013

According to those who know her well, above all things, Carol Moss Read is a good friend.

Active in the community through a number of volunteer efforts, Read never stops moving and working to help those in need. Brian Hawkins, fellow member of Oktibbeha-Starkville Emergency Response Volunteer Services, described Read as someone with “a servant’s heart,” whose passion for helping those around her fits well with OSERVS’ general objective of “neighbors helping neighbors.” The group specializes in providing disaster relief for those who fall victim to natural disasters or fire.
