SMITH COLUMN: Lady Vols will keep improving

August 3, 2013

Smith

The Starkville Academy Lady Volunteers have shown signs of playing good softball this season.
There have been some rough spots early and the weaknesses of the Lady Vols have been exposed at times.
The key for Starkville Academy is to keep the bad innings to a minimum and build on the good frames.
It's been a work in progress for the Lady Vols and it will continue to be that way. Coach Kayla Mosley has such a young team to work with and the two seniors on the roster haven't played in a while, so they are inexperienced.
That's why tournaments such as the one Starkville Academy had on Saturday at the Sportsplex is very important.
